Making sure your student-athlete is ready and prepared to participate on an athletic team costs time and money.  Below is some helpful information to make this season run smoothly for both parents/guardians and students.
 
Equipment:
Shoes:
Essential to any fitness program are appropriate shoes.  For most of our track practices, students will be wearing a basic running flat shoe.  These shoes can be bough at just about every shoe store and range in price.  Click the link below to learn more about running shoes.

Event Specific Shoes:
You would never go ice skating with sneakers on or go mountain climbing in flip-flops.  It is important to invest in a good pair of shoes that are designed for your specific sport.  In general most sprint events utilize that same type of shoe while events like high jump, trows have specialized shoes.  Below is a link to some helpful information about track spikes.
 
 
 
Practice clothing:
Practice clothing consists of the following items and come in a variety of fabric types (cotton, polyester, spandex, moisture-wick and others).  Whatever clothing you choose, make sure it fits, is comfortable and does not restrict any body movement.
  • shorts (running)
  • T-shirts
  • Sweat pants/shirts
  • Warm-up suites
  • And compression clothes such as Under Armour(r)
