Parents/Guardians, Students and the Hemet High Community:

Wow! This year is moving quickly. It seems as though the 2018-2019 school year has just begun and we are nearly half way through the semester. I would like to take a moment and share that our staff is energized and deeply committed to the success of our students. We are excited to welcome the class of 2022 and looking forward to celebrating the accomplishments of the class of 2019. We will accomplish this by setting high academic expectations for all children and providing supportive systems to assure they are met. By addressing school culture, setting high standards for teacher performance, increased academic expectations for all students and engaging the community. The vision of Hemet High School is to be a physically and emotionally safe environment where every student will with the necessary skills and knowledge to attend college, a technical/ professional program, or other training in pursuit of their career of choice; where cultural diversity, democracy, technology and the arts are valued; and where Respect, Responsibility, and Accountability are encouraged.

I am pleased to share some of the exciting and outstanding programs at Hemet High School. We offer a variety of academic offerings including Honors, Advanced Placement and Dual Enrollment Courses. We have been selected to begin offering the Advanced Placement Capstone Diploma and as part of the diploma now offer AP Seminar and AP Research. We are also pleased to begin a Cyber Security program and introduce an American Sign Language Program this year. Our CTE programs continue to lead the county with the only MAST level NATEF certified automotive program in the state. We are moving into our third year with our very popular Sports Medicine Pathway and because of student interest we are beginning an Administration of Justice (Law Enforcement) program. Our Agriculture Program continues to grow and is the largest agriculture program in Southern California. The course offerings in Hemet High School’s Performing Arts programs add another layer of sophistication and culture to our students’ lives.  Our students’ exposure to the music, dance, art, and theater programs enriches their outlook on the world and allows them to appreciate and respect the beauty that surrounds them, from their local community to the various art forms they will encounter after graduation.  Athletically, we are beginning our fourth year with Lacrosse and all of our other athletic programs continue to give Hemet High School a sense of pride, unity, and respect, both for ourselves and the surrounding community.

Our many campus activities provide Hemet High students the chance to explore their leadership and creative skills.  In addition to the opportunity to get involved and grow in leadership capacity, our campus activities provide students a vehicle to strike a needed balance between their academic and personal lives in order to flourish as productive and fulfilled citizens. Hemet High School is an amazing high school that has much to be proud of. Our staff is dedicated to maximizing the academic success and personal growth of each of our students, and I am confident that we have the right people, resources, and tenacity to continue to do just that.  At HHS, our aim is to prepare each of our students for post high school success by providing them with a solid academic foundation that will enable them to pursue any post- secondary endeavor they choose. We hope you visit our website, as it will give you a quick snapshot of life at our school, as well as information about everything we do.  As we work together, I am confident that our student’s academic, social, and extracurricular needs will be met. Thank you for your support of our school! Best wishes for a successful school year!
