HHS African American Council for Excellence and Success (AACES)

 

 

Mission

 

The mission of the African American Council for Excellence and Success (AACES) is to provide a forum to hear the ideas of the Hemet High School African American/Black families. It is our goal to empower the lives of all African American/Black children and families by providing the knowledge and skills necessary to advocate for a high quality educational experience for our children.

 

HHS AACES 2018-19 Goals 

 

Goal # 1:

Increase parent involvement in AACES activities to 30% by May 2019.

 

Goal # 2:

Lower suspension rates of African American students to 6% by May 2019.

 

Goal # 3:

Increase number of African American on track for *A-G completion from 29.6% to 35% by May 2019.

*A-G courses:  a sequence  of high school courses students must complete, with a C or better, to be minimally eligible for admission to UC & CSU.  They represent the basic  level of academic preparation that high school students should achieve to  undertake university work.

2018-2019 AACES Meeting Schedule

In an effort to reach all of Hemet High School's African American/Black families, AACES will host monthly meetings.  AACES meetings will generally held from 6:00pm - 7:30pm; dinner and childcare will be provided. Meetings are open to all families of African American students and allies.
