Hemet wins Ramona Cup for City Championship, CIF up next.

On last Friday night, our football team was pumped and delivered another victory as they defeated West Valley.

The game started off slow as Hemet was about to turn over the ball but on the punt, West Valley muffed it and the Bulldogs recovered.  From their it was a few quick plays and a 23 yard touchdown run by quarterback Nick Thornburg.  The Dogs were off and running.

It was a big night for Kyle Serna as he put his stamp on the game receiving and returning kickoffs.  Kyle reached the end zone twice, once on a 6 yard pass an another with some speed, vision and breaking tackles as he returned a 96 yard Kickoff for a touchdown.  Thornburg spread it around as he kept putting the ball in the hands of his playmakers Dawson Powers, Frankie Castillo, Antonio Estanislao and Tyler Richardson to each score during the game.  Estavan Becerra also put up two points by recording a safety.

The 44 to 6 victory assured Hemet of the Ramona Cup for the City Championship, but that was not their goal.  The next challenge will be a CIF playoff game where our Bulldogs will be hosting the Colton Yellowjackets this Friday night at 7 p.m.  This is the first time that Hemet has hosted a CIF game at our own stadium.  Let’s get out and support our school and team.
