A Little Something To Remember

As we look back to the movies our parents grew up with, even the ones we grew up watching, we can look at the difference between then and now: movies have gotten more advanced and have gained better graphics. Movies aren’t the only things that have changed since we were kids, - the channels have changed. Nickelodean and Disney were probably the two main channels we all grew up watching. Looking back at our childhood, it doesn’t look like it was that long ago. It’s only been about 14-18 years, but in that span of time our beloved Disney has changed dramatically. Their movies, especially, have created a more teen oriented atmosphere. Their latest “hit” was “Teen Beach Movie.” What about their Halloween movies? Their last Halloween movie was “Frankenweenie” in 2012; their older movies were even better than this.

For those of you who don’t remember all of the old Disney movies, have no fear. One of the “older” Disney movies is “Under Wraps,” a movie about a 3000-year-old mummy being kept a secret by three friends. “Tower of Terror” made such an impact that it became a ride at Disney’s California Adventure. “Tower of Terror” is about a reporter who stumbles upon a mystery dating back to the late 30’s and must help ghosts reclaim their lives. “Phantom of the Megaplex” is about a 17 year old put in charge of not only setting up for the premiere of Midnight Mayhem at a movie theater, but also babysitting his younger brother and sister. As this occurs, the movie theater seems to be having issues such as real life tornados and title problems. Lastly, there is “Mom’s Got a Date With a Vampire,” which is self-explanatory. A mother of three goes on a date with a man that her children feel is not what he says he is.

There are also the more famous Disney movies, such as the “Halloweentown” series, the “Twitches” series, “Hocus Pocus,” “The Haunted Mansion,” and finally “Nightmare Before Christmas.” These movies have more name recognition than most Disney movies.

Whether it is “Teen Beach Movie” or the classic “Tower of Terror”, Disney will never be the same. All we have to do is sit back and watch.
