Already, some incredibly popular franchises have been released: Batman Arkham Origins, Assasin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, and Grand Theft Auto V being some of the more popular ones. All have been popular among game-lovers, but Grand Theft Auto V was easily the biggest hit of the year, selling almost 29 million units in its first month alone.
This year, not only new video games are being released, but Sony and Microsoft have launched new gaming consoles as well. The PlayStation 4 hit U.S. shelves November 15th, priced at $399, and the Xbox One on sale a week later for $499. Others think the PlayStation 4 is the way to go. The debate could go on forever, but both consoles feature the likes of two big game releases: Battlefield 4 and Call of Duty: Ghosts.

New mechanics have been added; maps now have areas that can be altered or destroyed, and on certain maps, you can use new features allowing you to kill the top player on the other team. Also, a new multiplayer type was revealed, called Squads, which features a squad that you build up and face other squads around the world. Gamer Andrew Hansen, said “the game plays a lot different. It’s smoother, and you can actually play along with it.” Ghosts is the first Call of Duty game available on both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
