A Little Taste of Thanksgiving Every Where You Go

It’s Thanksgiving week, and you have no food prepared for the family gathering happening in just four short days. You are pulling out your hair going from store to store trying to find the perfect ingredients for the one day in which you have the reins of. You have a turkey to carve, fruit to buy, pies to bake, and a table that will not set it self (wouldn’t that be cool.) As you are traveling from store to store, you find your stomach is making obscene and loud sounds signaling hunger. You pop into the closest fast food restaurant. Looking at the menu, you are trying to figure out what you are hungry for. You turn your head, just to catch the glimpse of a new item added for the holiday season; a pumpkin flavored item of some sorts. It is not just a coincidence that this fast food chain has a seasonal item added to their normal menu; most fast food chains add a little seasonal food to spice up their cliental. For those people who enjoy something a little cold to break the crisp air: Jack in Box, for the month of November, carries a Pumpkin Spice Ice Cream Shake; Pink Berry has Pumpkin Frozen Yogurt and Dairy Queen carries a Pumpkin Pie Blizzard and a Pumpkin Pie Shake. If coffee is more your speed, Starbucks, of course, is here to accommodate you as they serve Pumpkin Spice Lattes; McDonalds has their version of a pumpkin spice latte and Dunkin Donuts has pumpkin coffee (in store, for the Keurig, and in grounds.) Food is always good for the rushing around that must be done and Starbucks has you covered once more. Their holiday food ranges from pumpkin bread to pumpkin scones. McDonalds is back for another round serving a pumpkin pie as one of their dessert options.
Lets recap, just for a second- you were running around, found a fast food eatery, and you found a Thanksgiving themed meal. Did I get everything? Okay that’s a relief. This Thanksgiving, if you find yourself in a situation as the one described above, just slow down, take a breath, relax and enjoy a “pumpkin-something” from somewhere. That always makes me feel better. Happy Thanksgiving.
