Hemet Football CIF Game Notes and Volleyball Leaders

HEMET (5-5) VS. PHELAN SERRANO (9-1)

7 P.M. FRIDAY AT SERRANO HS

HSGAMETIME INFO: It’s the first trip to the playoffs since 2006 for the Bulldogs and they drew a tough matchup in Serrano. The Mojave River champion Diamondbacks reached the championship game last season and are the No. 2 seed this year. Serrano is 5-0 at home and sports the top scoring defense in the division, surrendering just 62 points in its 10 games with five shutouts. Hemet might have some momentum after its come-from-behind win over San Jacinto, but needs to cut down on turnovers and find success on the ground.
