Woman Crush Wednesday

In addition to the Man Crush Monday article, there is also a Woman Crush Wednesday for those who felt left out. There are also plenty of people who do Woman Crush Wednesday every Wednesday as well! You guys are in luck, I will also be doing a Woman Crush Wednesday article every issue too.

To start off our Woman Crush Wednesday trend off is someone who has a very broad range of careers. She is an American professional ballroom dancer, country music singer, an actress, and also a two-time professional champion of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars! Who could it be? The gorgeous Julianne Alexandra Hough of course! Julianne is 25 years old, 5’4” and has already accomplished so much. Julianne was born on July 20, 1988 in Orem, Utah where she was the youngest of five children in a Mormon family. Julianne comes from a family of dancers, which may explain why she is such a fabulous dancer. Julianne’s parents sent her and her brother Derek to London with their dancing coach to live and study when she was just 10 years old. At the young age of 15 she left London after being “abused, mentally, physically, everything,” speaking of a situation that escalated “when I started hitting puberty, when I started becoming a woman and stopped being a little girl.” People told her if she went back to the states that she would “amount to nothing” and end up working at Whataburger. She proved them wrong.

Julianne has a lot to show for! She released 3 albums: Julianne Hough in 2008, Sounds of the Season: The Julianne Hough Holiday Collection in 2008, and the Rock of Ages soundtrack in 2012. Julianne has been in a number of films and television: Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone as an uncredited Hogwarts schoolgirl in 2001, Dancing with the Stars as a dancer, trainer, and choreographer from 2007 and 2012, Burlesque as Georgia in 2010, Footloose as Ariel Moore in 2011, Rock of Ages as Sherrie Christian in 2012, Safe Haven as Katie Feldman/Erin Tierney in 2013, Paradise as Lamb in 2013, Dancing with the Stars as a Judge in 2013.

Along with her hard work came nominations for awards. In 2008 she was nominated for Outstanding Choreography on Dancing with the Stars, In 2009 she won Top New Female Vocalist, and Top New Artist, her song “That Song in My Head” was nominated for USA Weekend Breakthrough Video of the Year, and she was nominated again for Outstanding Choreography on Dancing with the Stars, In 2011 she won Female Rising Star of 2011, and in 2012 she was nominated for Movie: Choice Breakout and Movie: Choice Chemistry for her performance in the hit film Rock of Ages.

Julianne Hough proved and is still proving a lot of people wrong today. Many people would say that her story is very influential and inspiring for the young today, and I would have to agree.
