Man Crush Monday

Man Crush Monday is trending everywhere: Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, and everywhere in between! Girls and guys from all over the world share who their man crushes are, whether it be their boyfriend, someone they wish were their boyfriend, or, of course, those dreamy celebrities. It’s not just teenage girls that have caught on to this Man Crush Monday craze, its women of all ages: your mom, grandma, aunt, cousin, and sister all have a Man Crush Monday even if they aren’t as voice tress as the rest of us.

To start off this new reoccurring trend in your very own school newspaper, we’ll start off with the one and only Thomas Luther Bryan, commonly known and referred to as Luke Bryan! Luke is an American Country singer-songwriter associated with Capitol Records Nashville. Luke is 37 years old and was born on July 17, 1976, in Leesburg, Georgia. Sorry ladies, he is unfortunately not single. He married Caroline Boyer in 2006. Together they have two beautiful and healthy children, Tatum Christopher Bryan and Thomas Boyer Bryan, or “Bo”.

At the start of his extravagant music career, Luke played in local clubs in his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia. While doing this, he had bigger dreams: Nashville, Tennessee dreams. It didn’t take long for him to see some results down in Nashville; he almost immediately took #1 on the country charts. Luke can play acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and piano! Of course, his charming smile and his booty pop in his tight “honky tonk” jeans helped him out a bit, but mostly, everyone saw the star quality that shined through those tight jeans of his.

Luke Bryan now has a total of four astonishing albums: I’ll Stay Me (2007), Doin’ My Thing (2009), Tailgates & Tanlines (2011), and his most recent Crash My Party (2013). My personal favorite just so happens to be Tailgates & Tanlines! Luke has won every award he has been nominated for as well! In 2010, Luke was named Top New Solo Vocalist, Top New Artist, New Artist of the Year, and his song “Do I” won Breakthrough Video of the Year. In 2011, Luke was named Male Artist of the Year, “Someone Else Calling You Baby” won Single by a Male Artist, “Country Girl (Shake It for Me)” won Country Single, “It’s a Shore Thing” won Best Web Video of the Year, He won the Nationwide Insurance On Your Side Award, and Country Male Artist. In 2012, Luke was named Country Male Artist, Male Vocalist of the Year, Favorite Male Country Artist, Artist of the Year, also Favorite Country Album, his album “Tailgates and Tanlines” won album of the year, “I Don’t Want This Night to End” won single of the year, Single by a Male Artist, Music Video of the Year, Music Video by a Male Artist, Most Played Radio Track, and Most Played Radio Track by a Male Artist. In 2013, Luke was named Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Top Country Artist, “Tailgates and Tanlines” won Album of the Year and Top Country Album, “The Only Way I Know” with Jason Aldean and Eric Church won Vocal Event of the Year and Collaboration Video of the Year, “Drunk on You” won Top Country Song and CMT Performance of the Year with “Feel Again”, “Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye” won Video of the Year and Male Video of the Year.

It’s safe to say that his hard work shows! Luke is also AMAZING in concert, coming from first-hand experience; he definitely knows how to get a crowd going. Check out Luke Bryan’s latest album, Crash My Party!
