Temecula’s College Fair

The 5th annual Temecula Valley College and Vocational Invitational, or more simply known as the College Fair, took place on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Temecula’s Promenade Mall. Admissions representatives from over 175 colleges, both universities and vocational schools, were at attendance on the second floor of the mall. The fair, the largest of its kind in our region, was open to all, but mostly high school juniors and seniors attended the fair.

The fair was a window of opportunity, and answered a lot of questions for both college-bound students or people simply looking to expand their options. The schools in attendance ranged from California State and UC schools to Ivy League and vocational schools. Universities, private colleges, and community colleges from around the country were all present; University of Oregon, University of Kansas, Grand Canyon University, University of Albany and Northern Arizona University were some of which came from out of state. Most of the locally-located schools attended the fair as well: UCLA, UC San Diego, and Cal State Monterey Bay were some of which attended. The area designated for most California universities was the busiest of them all.

This is the fifth year Temecula has put on the event, and organizers say this year was the largest to date. The fair is more than likely going to re-occur next year, so if you missed it this time, the opportunity is sure to come around next year, as well as other smaller college fairs in the area coming soon.
