Football, friends, and the revealing of the Homecoming Queen- September 27th was the Homecoming Game, and it was definitely an interesting one.
The Homecoming princesses, Andrea Gomez, Amanda Torres, Rebecca Lopez, Baylee Christian, and Cheyenne Rodriguez, made their rounds during the Halftime Show. Last year’s queen, Nina Motlagh, made an appearance and helped crown this year’s Homecoming Queen, who was later to be revealed as Baylee Christian. The dance team performed for the first time this school year to close out halftime.
The Varsity football team played the Moreno Valley Vikings in an intense and stirring game. The Bulldogs were down in the score 3-14 by halftime, but made an exciting comeback. The climax of the game was in the last quarter, more particularly in the last four to five minutes. With two minutes to spare, the score was up, 19-21. The boys tried to get an inch closer in the score by completely a 2-point conversion, but barely missed the opportunity. In the end, the team fell to the Vikings, 19-21, in the closest and most exciting game of the season thus far.
The team was devastated about the loss, but they played hard and dedicated the game to their fallen coach, Darrell Von Driska. Friday Night Lights are always a good time, and this exhilarating game in particular was an accurate preview for the Homecoming dance the next night.
