“What is the theme for homecoming?” has been one of the top questions here at Hemet High since school started back in August. We had to wait until the Homecoming Assembly on September 19th to finally figure out what it is! Gatsby! That’s right, just like the movie and book the Great Gatsby!
Everyone is so excited about our theme because were taking it back to the roaring 20’s. The roaring twenties was a time where flappers and the use of technology were not used. Today our world is revolved around technology, while back then technology was just becoming popular as well as automobiles, telephones, and motion pictures.
Not only are we all worried about the theme, we also found out the top 5 for Homecoming Court. Rebecca Lopez, Andrea Gomez, Baylee Christian, Andrea Tores, Cheyenne Rodriguez were the Homecoming Queens, as Jake VanZee, Daniel Rhodes, Ryan Graham, Alex Saucedo, Paco Curiel, and Malachi Cancino were the Homecoming Kings. As you can tell this year there are not five kings but SIX.
The Homecoming Queen will be announced at the game next Friday, while the Homecoming King will be announced at the dance on September 28th. So I encourage everyone to go, and have fun!
