We have done it! Our school has finally done the impossible: we have mastered the art of time travel. On September 28th, our school took a test run to the 1920s and it worked! For that night alone, the people who attended Homecoming 2013 were sent to the “roaring 20s”.
The decorations for the dance all resembled signs from the twenties. The dance floor, however, was more modern; TV screens were set up around the DJ stand and displayed music videos that coincided with each song, while lights illuminated all those who were on the dance floor.
Before anyone was allowed to travel to the twenties, dance supervisors handed every attendee a red wrist band, insuring that there would be no vulgar dancing. Each student was allowed three warnings, the wrist band being the first, and if the wrist band were to come off, you had to leave the dance; a few people found that out the hard way.
Homecoming princes Ryan Graham, Francisco Curiel, Jake VanZee, Malachi Cancino, and Alex Saucedo brought their dates and escorts when it was time to announce the Homecoming King, but in the end, Jake VanZee took the crown.
Homecoming allowed you to spend time with friends, dance your head off, and enjoy the night! If you didn’t get a chance to go to Homecoming this year, don’t freak out- there will be other dances.
