9/11 Where Were You?

I bet we can all remember where we were on the day that forever changed the lives of many Americans and many people all over the world. On September 11th, 2001 two airplanes that were hijacked were flown into the World Trade Center (the Twin Towers). While one other plane was crashed into the Pentagon, as well as another plane that was headed for Washington, but landed in a field in a town in Pennsylvania. Almost 3,000 people died in all of the plane crashes, including over 200 civilians and 19 hijackers from the Al-Qaeda group. It was a day of mourning and disbelief while many people didn’t know who did it, and why.

Where were you on September 11th, 2001? On the day of September 11th, I can remember it like it was yesterday. It was my first day of kindergarten and we were all sitting in class when my teacher got a phone call saying that the towers have been hit. No one knew who hit them, or why they did. But my teacher just burst into tears, it was truly sad to see. Not until I grew older did I truly understand what happened. Now I understand why everyone was in such disbelief and shock.

Jennifer Cruz said on September 11, 2001 she was visiting family down in Mexico, when she heard about the twin towers collapsing. She thought that her mom was involved in it, because she was to young to understand what truly happened.

Life is short, and we never know when we’ll be thrown a curveball that forever will change our lives. Thousands of innocent people lost their lives on that beautiful day, thousands of people that will never see their family again and thousands of people that will never see tomorrow, and they have no way in taking it back. 9/11 is a day that changed America. Live everyday to the fullest, because tomorrow isn’t promised.
