Agriculture, Food, Rides; What Else Could You Ask For?

Most of us have lived in Hemet long enough, therefore we know what it is like to live near farms. Our school also takes part in Hemet’s agricultural heritage. From Friday the 20th to Sunday the 22nd, the Estudillo Mansion hosted the third annual Agricultural Festival in San Jacinto. Not only did our FFA take part in the fair as a petting zoo, but the fair also supplied venders from all over the inland empire as well rides from the Candyland ride company. The venders ranged from jewelry, to politics, to Direct TV.

I asked one of the FFA Members, Cheyenne Caballero, how she felt about the petting zoo and she stated, “I feel that people had a great time with it. People were able to buy food and feed the goats. It was so much fun.” Not only were there goats, but horses as well. At 1 o’clock that afternoon, there was a celebration of America that involved our very own JFROTC Color Guard. The ceremony opened with the pledge, National Anthem and O’ Beautiful. Commander of color guard, Second Lt. Christopher Petersen, led 2nd Lt. Jordan Randall, Senior Airman Nicolas Baca-Akkerman, and Senior Airman Tyler Smith. Chief Master Sgt. Wood was at the Festival with the Color Guard as well.

During this celebration, one particular citizen of the city dressed in Revolutionary War clothing and talked to men who served or are serving in the US Military. A choir also sang all 5 songs for each branch of the military.

The fair ran all weekend long, and had people form all over the city take part in the festival. If you didn’t catch the festival this year, don’t fret. It will be back next year. There was live music, great food and good people. Then, you can have fun, ride some rides, eat some fair food, and even purchase a few things. See you next year!!
