Four people have qualified to be interviewed to fill a vacancy on the Hemet Unified School District governing board.

The current trustees will appoint one of the men to fill out the remainder of the term of Bill Sanborn, who has
resigned.

Candidates are John Graham, Robert Righetti, Victor Scavarda and Charles Schelly.

Each will be interviewed by the school board starting at 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, and one is expected to be appointed that day to serve until the term expires in December 2014.

Sanborn, a school board member for almost 22 years, is resigning effective July 1 because he and his family are moving out of the area.

Graham, who taught in the Hemet school district for 34 years, was an unsuccessful candidate for the board in the November election. Scavarda also is a retired school district teacher. Righetti is head of the Hemet Taxpayers Association and Schelly is a chiropractor with a practice
in Hemet.

Whoever is appointed is expected to be sworn in at the July 16 board meeting. He will represent District 1, which covers Idyllwild, Mountain Center and Pine Cove.

The interviews, which will be open to the public, will be in the district board room, 1791 W. Acacia Ave.
