HHS Underclass Awards

Hemet High School underclassmen and parents showed up for the 2013 school year awards ceremony on Monday, May 13 at 6:00 p.m. to celebrate and be recognized for their academic, athletic, participation, attendance and other awards hard earned through the year.

Department Awards: Each teacher recognizes several students who are deserving of an award including the

criteria of hardest worker, most improved in academics or behavior, or best all around student in their subject.

Daisy Chain: The juniors who have the highest ranking grade point average in their class (approximately

24 students) receive recognition and lead the seniors at graduation.



Academic Excellence: Students are recognized who have straight A’s or a total weighted grade point average of 4.0 for first semester of this year and who currently have straight A’s or a total weighted grade point average of 4.0 for the 5th triad. Academic letters and/or lamps of knowledge will be presented to each student in September 2013 after final grades are reviewed.



Outstanding Attendance: All students are recognized who have no all day absences.



Perfect Attendance: Students are recognized who have no all day and no period absences.



President’s Award for Educational Excellence: Students are recognized who score in the 85th percentile

or higher in the math or reading on the STAR Test and who have a minimum 3.5 overall grade point average.
