Hemet Boys Volleyball Begins CIF

The Hemet High Boys Volleyball team went through an undefeated league season (10-0) and won two tournament championships (Hemet and Tahquitz) while placing second in one (Norco).   Overall, the boys finished 23-1 and earned a 4th seed in the CIF division 3 playoffs that start Tuesday, May 7.  Hemet hosts Anaheim Western.

The team has a variety of weapons out on the court and have improved tremendously from the beginning of the season.  Junior setter Jacob Hill runs the show and can get the ball to his power hitters Dylan Vashaw and Jared Walsh on the outside or push it back to a much improved Marcus Patterson or Josh Leih.  The quick hitters in the middle go to Tristan Yoder or JohnPaul Scheuble.  For Hill to get the ball to his hitters, the Bulldog defense and passing has to be spot on.  With Kristian Gallardo taking over at the Libero, defensive specialists Jacob Arana and Kory Labella will have to be on to keep the offense working.  Serving specialist Eduardo Villasenor makes the most of his opportunity as does Tristan Skinner, Ethan Nelson and Gregor Jicha when they enter the game.

Fellow Sunbelt League and valley school Tahquitz also plays by traveling to Yorba Linda.
