The Hemet Scholastic Chess Tournament will begin at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, March 16, at Dartmouth Middle School. The tournament, coordinated by the Riverside Youth Chess Association, is open to students in grades kindergarten through 12. Competitors will play in sections with others of similar age, with trophies awarded for the best scores in each section. Registration costs $2 until Wednesday, March 13.
