Hemet High Sweeps Rival - West Valley

The Hemet High athletics had a pretty good showing Wednesday, January 30, 2013.  The girl’s soccer team beat rival West Valley 3-0 and remained undefeated in league and season play.  The girl’s water polo team destroyed Tahquitz High School 14-4 in the pool and the girl’s basketball team won their first league game of the season downing the Mustangs of West Valley, 41-37.  The ladies got thrown around in the saddle in the first half of the game falling way back, but made up the distance, got back in the saddle again to keep it close, and then let them ponies back to the barn.  The boy’s basketball didn’t want to let down after their convincing first win this year and had something to prove, as they do every game.  The Dogs closed our the first quarter leading by three after Garrick Shetrod hit a big 3-pointer to go up 16-13.  The Bulldogs piled it on in the second quarter blowing up the lead by 19 with a score of 37-18.  The second half everything was pretty even but the boy’s played hard for all four quarters and ended up winning with another strong defensive performance, 64-41.  Next up are the Friday night games with Citrus Hill at home.  (See the Video of Fans Here.)
