Welcome back your dreams were your ticket out. Welcome Back.
Good Morning Hemet High School. Welcome to the 2017 - 2018  school year . I'm Doctor Shaw, your principal.  This year we have many new and exciting things to share with you we're excited to welcome a new assistant principal, Kari McGowan.  You'll meet her later in today's video.  The purpose of the video this morning is to share with you the expectations of Hemet High School.  You'll be introduced to people who are on campus to support you and assist you in all of your needs.  We are very excited to inform you that will be having late starts on Wednesday's and school will start at 9.  The teachers have an opportunity to collaborate so you'll be able to sleep in a little bit, however, you also have an opportunity to come on campus at regular time to receive tutoring and support if that's something that you would like to take advantage of.  We also are offering a new elective, our career pathways, of administration of justice.  As you begin planning for your future,  I strongly recommend that you visit our College and career center where Mr orzechowski serves as our counselor and there's also a parent liason to support your parents and in anything that they might need resources for school.   Our start and end times times have changed this year we start school at 7:40 we dismiss at 2:46 with exception of Wednesday's our start time is 9 o'clock in the morning dismissal still 246.  We are very proud to maintain a legacy of excellence and activities, Athletics, the arts and academics.  Have a great year Bulldogs are really looking forward to working with you. Hello Bulldogs my name is Mrs. McGowan and I'm your new assistant principal I'm very happy to be here at Hemet High School, and I know this is going to be a great year.  In order to make all of you successful, ladies I'd like to talk to you about dress code, make sure that you keep these in mind before you come to school each day.  Ladies make sure that basically from your collarbone up that is okay to show but from your collarbone 2 about mid thigh, make sure that that's covered up. So what that means is this if you're wearing any shirts that have big holes on the side holes anywhere else or that are see through what you're wearing an undershirt that also means your midriff you cannot be showing your belly button so if you raise your hands up in the air and your shirt does show your midriff, that is too short, make sure your shirts are long enough. That goes also for I'm your strapless tops you can't wear those to school to make sure that you keep those in mind as well should all of your undergarments are properly covered with your shirts and also with shorts keep those in mind that they can't be too short a good rule of thumb is to  keep them about mid-thigh.  The same rule applies you that it places the boys so they cannot wear professional sports attire and neither can you.  That goes for hats, shirts, lanyards, jackets, sweaters and all of that  I think that's it. So any questions please the front office and ask as would be happy to answer all of your questions and love to meet all of you make sure that you guys stop in and say hi and I will see you around campus. Hi good morning my name is Mr. Uribe and I'm the PBIS specialist here at Hemet High School what I'm covering today is the dress code for the boys school dress code will be enforced please dress appropriately.  There is no sagging pants, no Chains, No professional logo,s on any clothing his hats shirts jerseys or shoes. You guys have a great year this year for the 2017-18 school year thank you.   Hey welcome back Hemet high school, I'm Mrs. Killebrew I am a teacher here and I am the PBIS coordinator.  I just want to take a few minutes to share with you what PBIS stands for positive behavior interventions and support and we've been doing PBIS for about a year but we haven't officially rolled it out.  So when you walked on the is today you might have noticed some of these banners hanging around or in your classroom.  We have a school wide set of expectations that we are going to be implementing this year and we're going to be reinforcing behaviors.  Behaviors like being respectful responsible and accountable and so as we progressed sure we're going to be rewarding the behaviors that we want to see on Hemet High School's campus. Because with PBIS it creates a better school climate and that's what we want for all our Bulldogs, and so as the year progresses, we're going to be using a reward app where teachers can reinforce that positive behavior that we want to see and that should be coming out in the next month or two,  where we can use your ID cards to just scan and move forward and add points.  Another thing I want to mention is ID cards I just mentioned them is the ID cards you have to have you have to have them to check out library books you need them to get into games if you have ASB so if you lose your ID card you're going to have to replace it.  It's $5 for a straight ID $10 if you have an ASB card.  If it's stolen he must fill out a police report can you come replace it and if it's damaged will be replaced for free I don't the way you over places you go to the ASB office you pay for that replacement and then you bring that receipt to Mr. Hill he'll get you a new ID card.  Welcome Back Bulldogs, have a GREAT year.  Good morning Bulldogs I'm Mr. Zavala, one of the assistant principals.  I'm here to review the cell phone policy.  As some of you know we have a really strict cell phone policy.  Cell phones must be turned off and out of sight when you're in the classroom, unless you teach requires them for any activity.  Cell phones may be confiscated by your teacher if they are visible in class.   If the cell phone is confiscated we return to you Thursday of every week,  also if you refuse to give your teach the cell phone you again you sent to Administration where we're going to give you a discipline consequence. And lastly Hemet High is not responsible for any electronic device that may get stolen or damaged on school grounds.  Thank you.   Good morning Hemet High Bulldogs.   I Mrs. Williams, one of your assistant principals. I oversee discipline, so if you have any trouble or concern with other students or anything you need to talk about, come see me in the front office.  I would also would like to talk to you turn about bullying, we have a zero tolerance policy here at Hemet High for bullying.  If you have any concerns about bullying if you see someone being bullied or you're being bullied yourself, please come see me immediately.  You can also use Sprigeo which is an app that can be found on our Hemet High website to anonymously report bullying.   Remember to be respectful, responsible, and accountable at all times because at Hemet High, that's who we are.  Also remember to go on the hemethigh.com website and look at the student handbook, read it in detail so you know all of our rules and policies that we must abide by here at Hemet High. Good morning and welcome back Bulldogs, I am coach Berkowsky,  head coach of lacrosse program but I also run the OCR room.  We hope to see you out on the Cross Field but otherwise I might see you down here in the OCR and these are the reasons you might be here.  One of them is dress code, there are certain policies that we have in place here at Hemet High and unfortunately if you are dressing inappropriately you will come down to see me and I will give you a change of clothing to wear.  In order to avoid that, you just need to wear the right clothing.  The second reason you might come see me is tardies.  It's important that you are on time to class.  If you are excessively late to class, they will send you to me and you will come down here and you will be productive and you will work.   something you might come see me if it's important that you are on time to class if you are accessible I'm here and you will be productive.   Also for behavior, you're expected to handle yourself in a certain manner while in a classroom.  If you do not, you will be sent down to me, you will  be writing a reflection as to what occurred during class, and then you will be working here, it is not a vacation, so if you get sent to OCR I expect you to work and be productive, this is a productive learning environment.  If you get sent to OCR come directly to the OCR do not pass go, do not collect $200, come directly to OCR.   If you abuse the situation, unfortunately the consequences may get worse but hopefully you won't go down that road.    Again, as long as you are on time to class, you handle yourself well, and you are dressing appropriate, there should be no reason why you see me, unless it's maybe out on the Lacrosse field.  Again I am the Lacrosse coach, so it would be nice to see some of you out there, otherwise if I do see you we will handle situation as it comes along and hopefully you'll handle yourselves well. Hi, I'm Danielle Cisneros on the clinical therapist here at Hemet High School for grades 10 through 12.  My name is Jake Simmons I'm also clinical therapist here in the counseling office, I work specifically with 9th graders through the BARR program which is building assets reducing risks.  We're here to help you if you have anything that feel that's going on for you that maybe it's not to do with your class changes or something academic or it's something more emotional that's what we're here for, if you feel like you want to harm yourself or you know somebody that might want to harm themselves, you're free to walk down to the counseling office and ask to speak to one of us, but if it's something else it's not that urgent and you just want to talk to us, please feel free to go to hemethigh.com under the counseling tab, our names are there and you can request an appointment when we love to talk to you. Welcome back Bulldogs, I'm Dawn Sonnier, school counselor for the 11th grade.  We are doing great level counseling the school year, again like last year.  Mrs. Fernandez is your 12 grade counselor, I'm going to be the 11th grade counselor, Mrs. Jacobs is the 10th grade counselor, Mr. Arnold is the 9th grade counselor.  Today, the first day of school, everyone is to attend their six classes.  Please attend all those classes, the only reason why you would come the counseling office is:  one, if you do not have a scheduled class in your period.  If you have a hole in your schedule, you can come down the counseling office and we will be seeing those students who do not have a schedule course.  If your schedule says student aid or student tutor, please come to counseling window and we will give you the packet for you to fill out to find your teacher of who you're going to aide for or who you're going to tutor for.  If your schedule says see counselor, please go to that teacher and room number and we will take care of that class and make sure that you have the correct class.  Any seniors with an unscheduled first or 6th period, please come to the counseling window and pick up your late start or early release packet and fill that out and turn it into the counseling office.  For anyone who wants to schedule change, will be opening up the window on the Hemet High School website under counseling for the schedule request change form.  We do not allow teacher changes, nor do we allow lunch changes, and please only submit one request.
We are so excited in the counseling office to work with you, and have this one of the best years at Hemet High School.  Have a good day Bulldogs.
Good morning Bulldogs this is Mr. O the career.  The center career center is located right outside the gym, in the Commons, and I am the college and career counselor for Hemet High School.  So any questions that you might have regarding college or career, come see me.  I'm here everyday, I'm available during the lunches, there is no appointment necessary, you can just walk in. The career center is going to be a great resource for you this year in terms of College Planning, in terms of Financial Aid, in terms of trying to figure out a major or maybe a career.  I have a great deal of resources down here and I'll be happy to spend some time talking with you about what you might want to do after graduation.  So don't forget to come and see me and I hope you guys have a great first day.
Good morning Hemet High I'm Mr. Hill and I'm here today to talk to you hemethigh.com, Hemet High's website.  If you go into a browser, normally we're going to go in the Chrome on new Chromebooks and you going to go and type in Hemethigh.com in the browsers address bar when you come up with hemethigh.com you are going to see the web page up here and it's got the top and you go to scroll down you got more information on the bottom part of the page.  So if I go through this, I got a couple things that you need to be aware of.  This is my home button so I'm going to use this frequently throughout this demonstration.  If I can slide across the top icons up here, the top navigation bar, you can see the all have drop-downs in them.  If I want to see something about specifically in one of those drop-downs, I would just hover over it and drop down if I wanted to find out about the history of Hemet High School, I would click the mouse.  By clicking it then I can scroll up and down and show you a history of Hemet High School.  No matter where I am in the webpage, if I go up to this button, this icon up here, if it's up here, I can click on that and always go back to the homepage.  Now the tabs have a lot of different things in them, you got information on academic with AP courses, Athletics, counseling information, activities, in contacting us.  If we need to make a schedule change or request something for my counselors, I would go over the counseling Tab and I would request an appointment from a counselor.  When I do this, I would go through and fill out the information in this Google Docs form, and then hit the submit button at the bottom of the page, and the counselors will then call you out of your class and have a conversation with you.  If you want to go through in your interest in changing your schedule, you're going to go down here and back to the counseling Tab and go to schedule change request form and click on that. Currently is unavailable counselors won't be making changes for the first week, but you can check back here and see when it becomes available and make your request.  Other things you have in here are under Athletics, you got fall sporting events, fall sporting schedules, you've got the fall sporting link right here so if I click on that it opens up the PDF file and I can go through here and see all the athletic events from football or volleyball, cross-country, water polo, tennis, and a girl's golf, etc., everything is on that document.  If I come back to here I'm going to go back to the home button, again and looking at academics, information, if I want to find out what the bell schedule is I'm going to go to information and I'm will the bell schedule by clicking on the Bell schedules it pulls up all the schedules that we have and has a regular day bell schedule, it has the late start Wednesday bell schedule, it has first day of school bell schedule, which one on right now as well as back to school, minimum day, assembly schedules, etc.  Everything is there for us, all you have to do is look at it.  There's an activity tab over here which talks about and ASB will be posting some information, we've got Mock Trial stuff, Multi-media, Theater events, School newspaper and the Yearbook.  If you need to contact Hemet High School, perhaps you need a transcript request, you can go in here and go to contact us and click on the transcript request Mrs. Villarino will take care of that for you.   We also navigation bars here on the right, if you click on this button here, this will take you to the district website, and you have this button here which is important, the student portal, so if I click on the student portal, it's going to link me into the Aries account and I have to login using my student email account.  In order to do that you're going to type in your first initial, your last initial, and then you student number.  Whatever that student number is,  the at @ symbol, and then you can put stu.hemetusd.org.  Therefore you're going to put your login for your email address again it's your first initial, your last initial, your student number and then the @ symbol, and then you can put stu.hemetusd.org, click the next button and they'll ask you for a password.  If you haven't set up the account yet, you'll create a new account, if you forgot your password, you can click this button and it'll help you through and get your password taken care of. So this is an important area to be concerned with, so we're going to come back to the main page over here, you also have information for students, so if I click students here, I'm going to go through here and I've got some other information down here.  I got this navigation bar on the right AP honors summer course work, what should already be going, after school tutoring, you've got the senior contract, so if you click on this your going to go to the senior contract, this year's senior contract and you've got that stuff, it's online many of you have already signed it and submitted it, but if you need to reference it because you don't have a copy of it it's here online for you at Hemethigh.com.  I'm going to go back to the main page now, so I got all this other stuff.  If you're looking for staff and you want to find something to staff as said that they posted something on their website, you just click on the staff directory here and I'm going to pick on Mrs. Dewit, so I go into the search area and I type in Dewit and it comes up with Mrs. Dewit's name here so I click on this and it's going to open up her page that she has populated with something about her home and then she how to recent posts in there and she's got other links over here to go through and review it so if she asked you to go through and find it on a web page, that would be how you would do it.   I'm going to go click on this icon and take me back to the main menu, in the main menu with this is the top half the page now I'm going to move to the bottom half of the page or scrolling down, you got a couple things over here starting with this Video Gallery.  The Video Gallery is Our Daily Bulletin that we produce everyday is playing 3rd period, there is 12 minutes extra time during the third period for us to play The Daily Bulletin.   It's available to you online on your tablets, on your Google Chromebooks, or on your phone's, you can pull up the Daily Bulletin to always be in the know of what's happening and when it's happened Hemet High School.  We also post news and announcements, things that happened, obviously we have the registration, the first day information, we've got to the HHS registration has begun, we've got this stuff in here, and you can go down and read the little article and see the pictures that we've got in there.  I'm going to go back to the homepage and I'm going to scroll down again, now so this is all of our news and announcements are.   Now we've got the calendar and the calendar shows me upcoming events, it keeps about 9 or 10 items in this calendar and it's constantly being updated, but if you want to see a little bit more, you can hover over this word, Calendar by clicking on it and I'll bring up the calendar for the school so you can look at this right now and has August 2017, and you can see that it has a little calendar date over here of the days of the week and and the month, so if I click on the 18th, it's going to go down the 18th and I know there's a fresh football game, JV football game, and varsity football game with Palms Desert scrimmage.  So we got those things happening there and I can check out any dates that I want by clicking on the tabs are the icons over here.  Now I know Prom is in May, so I can click this and go forward September, October, etc., or what I can do is just click on this year review by clicking on this year overview, it's going to bring up a calendar for the full year, so I'm going to just scroll down I'm going to click in May, and once I click in May I'm going to look at Saturday for some Prom dates, there's nothing on the 5th let's try the 12th, while the 12th has prom and it's from 7 to 11:30 at a site to be determined.  So you can kind of scroll through this and look at all the stuff that's happening in the calendar from Hemet High School.   There's no reason not to know what is happening when.  So this is our website and we hope that you use it.  Come back, we'll be updating it as often as we can, we'll be changing these pictures in and out and if you have any questions see your teacher or see me, I'm in room 163. Welcome students back to Bulldog Country, welcome to Hemet High School.  Especially a big welcome to the class of 2018.  Seniors we have a lot of things planned for you this year.  Last year we had Morpchella, we had homecoming where close to a thousand students attend those events which are dances.  We hope you get involved, bottom line is, all students get involved, makes your academic year go a lot faster.   Last two years I promise you vending machines out in the comments and I didn't fulfill that promise.  This year we are going to get it done, we have an individual that's going to take care of that so we should have vending machines up and running by the end of August,  Also Homecoming, September 15th is the dance or September 15th is the game, September 16th is the dance.  The assembly to announce our court will be September 7th.  So get involved, be a part of Hemet High School, come out and visit us in the student store, it's  open everyday after school in the plaza, take part, good luck.  Freshman, we need 10 of you to be good officers of 2021.  When the announcement comes out to run for a leadership position in ASB, please take out an application. Welcome back Hemet High School, this is Dave Andersen, Hemet High School Athletic Director.  We have all kinds of sports in three sections, Fall Sports, Winter sports, Spring Sports.   The fall sports are going on right now, tryouts are beginning right now, so if you're interested in football, volleyball, boys water polo, girls tennis, boys and girls cross-country or girls golf, you need to come see me right away.  Everybody should get physicals, even if you're in baseball or softball which are Spring Sports, you should get them now because the only last for one year and they expire in June.  So now it's best time to get those things.  If you have any questions about Athletics, or any other kind of activities, please come by and see me.  I'll be out in front, usually saying good morning, please introduce yourself, I would like to do it everybody's name so please play have a great season and great year.
Good morning, this is Jamie from the library, I just wanted to give you a little update on the libraries at for the first week of school.  The library will be closed and will only have you come down for text with checkout only. Please wait for your English teacher to be called and please bring your ID and schedule and you will come down and see Kelly Rose in the textbook room to get all your textbooks. Welcome Bulldogs, my name is Miss Hendrickson, I'm one of the Ag teachers here at Hemet High, this is my sidekick Roxy.  So I welcome you all to come by and say hello to myself and Roxanne.  Roxanne's job is very important here for me at school and at home.  She does a lot of physical tasks for me from turning on lights to opening doors and even picking things up.  Now something important to know about Roxanne is that people petting her while she's working can be a big distraction.  So my one request to you and all the Bulldogs here on campus is to try and refrain from talking to or petting Roxanne as she has a job to do here and that is to help me so I can better teach you.  So this little girl here is Oakley.  Now Oakley's very shy and she'll be with me just to hang out in my classroom so you're welcome to come by and say hi to Oakley,  she may not want to say hi to you as she's very shy and doesn't easily make friends, but is willing to try.  So our goal here is to have my dogs be a part of our Bulldog family and I look forward to a great year.
