As we congratulate our graduating class of 2016 this spring, we also begin to welcome our incoming class of 2020 to Hemet High School! Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year! It’s difficult to believe that six years have passed since I began at Hemet High School. As many of you are aware, great things continue to happen in Bulldog Country!
In the past year, Hemet High School has sent graduates to Ivy League schools, the prestigious UC system schools, and a host of private colleges and universities ranked in the US News and World Report’s top 50 schools. Our school has established itself as a highly competitive academic environment that offers numerous unique educational opportunities to our students to grow and explore their interests prior to graduation.
Our many campus activities provide Hemet High students the chance to explore their leadership and creative skills. In addition to the opportunity to get involved and grow in leadership capacity, our campus activities provide students a vehicle to strike a needed balance between their academic and personal lives in order to flourish as productive and fulfilled citizens.
Our CTE programs continue to lead the county with the only MAST level NATEF certified automotive program in the state. We are also introducing Aerospace into our Project Lead the Way Pathway this year and beginning an all new Sports Medicine Pathway. Our Agriculture Program continues to grow and we welcome three additional teachers, which now makes our program the largest agriculture program in Southern California. The course offerings in Hemet High School’s Performing Arts programs add another layer of sophistication and culture to our students’ lives. Our students’ exposure to the music, dance, art, and theater programs enriches their outlook on the world and allows them to appreciate and respect the beauty that surrounds them, from their local community to the various art forms they will encounter after graduation. Our athletic programs continue to give Hemet High School a sense of pride, unity, and respect, both for ourselves and the surrounding community. During the past six years Hemet High has celebrated seven CIF championships in girls and boys athletic programs and we were recognized as the top Girls’ Athletic Program in CIF Southern Section in 2013 and CIF Champions of Character in 2015. We intend to build upon these positive experiences with another prosperous year in Bulldog athletics. We also introduced Lacrosse for both boys and girls last year and will continue to build that program for the 2017 season.
Hemet High School is an amazing high school that has much to be proud of. Our staff is dedicated to maximizing the academic success and personal growth of each of our students, and I am confident that we have the right people, resources, and tenacity to continue to do just that. At HHS, our aim is to prepare each of our students for post high school success by providing them with a solid academic foundation that will enable them to pursue any post- secondary endeavor they choose. As we continue working together, I am confident that our student’s academic, social, and extracurricular needs will be met. Thank you for your support of our school! Best wishes for a successful school year!
