About Mr. Davis
Alan Davis is Director of Choirs at Hemet High School, in Hemet CA, where he directs the chamber singers, adv. women’s ensemble (a.w.e), concert choir, and teaches music appreciation courses. Alan earned his Bachelor of Musical Arts degree (choral music education studies) from Pacific Lutheran University, Master of Education degree (secondary choral music education) from Portland State University, and is currently working on completing the Master of Music degree (choral conducting) from California State University-Los Angeles.
As a choral conductor and music educator, he has taught at high school and middle school choral programs in both Colorado, Oregon, and now California. He is an active member of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), the National Collegiate Choral Organization (NCCO), and the Southern California Vocal Association (SCVA). In addition, he currently writes book reviews for The Choral Journal. As a singer (tenor), he has recently sung as a member of the Colorado Chorale, the Evans Choir (a Professional/Project-Based Choir), and the Colorado Repertory Singers. As a composer and arranger, his arrangements and compositions have been performed in the United States and internationally.
